The Ayes have it.

Amethyst Downing is on the left(looking at the pic)
Aaron Broad is in the middle in the white jumper.
Josephine Ball is next to Aaron holding the flag. & next to her is Trish Levitt the ALO from KMC.
There are 2 teenagers in the pic also descendants & related.

Pretty cool lot-
Josephine is a direct descendant of Queen Rosie from Minnamurra & her mum says Rosie is buried in the banks of the river.
Aaron is a descendant of King Wolloongoloo & the Walker family & he is also buried along the river.
In Minnamurra we would like to acknowledge the Dharawal People as the traditional custodians of the land and recognise their ancient and continuing connections to this river estuary. We pay our respects to Elders past, present & emerging.
Unanimous opposition to the proposed sandmine.

Sunday 7th July at James Oats Reserve 11 am.

No Way Boral – Public gathering Sunday 7th July at 11 am at James Oats Reserve

Boral is proposing 2 new sand mining pits just metres away from the pristine Minnamurra River. They will clear trees, animals and then dig a 27 metre hole in the ground to extract sand.

Join hundreds of locals on the headland at James Oates Reserve from 11am on Sunday 7 July. We’re going to form a human sign on the headland and do a paddle out for the river. Bring you own signs and banners, and a surfboard or kayak to show your support for a healthy river.

Say 'No' to Boral's plan for sand mining along the Minnamurra River

Join hundreds at the mouth of the Minnamurra River on Sunday 7 July to say 'NO' to Boral's plans to dig two new sand mining pits within 150 metres of the river. We'll be forming a human sign on the headland and doing a paddle out for the river. Boral's new sand mining pits will impact endangered ecological communities including Littoral Rainforest and a number of threatened species. The river is popular for recreational fishers and paddlers, locals and visitors alike. This is the wrong place for sand mining.See the comments below for more details on the action on the 7th. See you there.
